Horse Backriding 

Meeting with our guide and departure to the south through the department of Lujan de Cuyo and through traditional wineries. Arriving at the town of Ugarteche, we take the rode of Los Cerrillos to cross the last dock of the Precordillera and into the Valle de Uco (Tupungato Department). Leaving the picturesque village of San José, we take the northwest along the Cordon del Plata and appreciating a landscape that contrasts the fertile valleys ofLa Carrerawith the majestic mountains. At the foot of CerroLa Plata(6,100 meters), we find the traditional EstanciaLa Alejandra(1900 m).Reception at the inn, staff introduction and breakfast.Introduction of the horses and saddling. Safety briefing given by the guide. Rein test in the ring. Departure on horseback to the paddock, roaming the colorful plantings of the area. Ascent by winding paths appreciating the herds of horses under the imposing Cordón del Plata.

Rest stop on "The Altar" having a breathtaking view of Valle de Uco and the Cordon del Plata. Herding ofover 30 horses to the corral and lasso practice.Return to the lodge and lunch. Taking againLa Carreraroad to the north we reach the viewpoint ofLa Ollada, place with the best view of the valley and the Potrerillos dam. On a winding path down we acess Potrerillos village to take then the International Road No. 7 bound for the city of Mendoza. Introduction of the horses and saddling. Safety briefing given by the guide. Necessary equipment: bathing suit, change of clothes, 2 pairs of shoes, towel and daypack.

Physical aptitude: basic
