FALLING IN LOVE WITH MENDOZA WITH THE HELP OF OUR FRIENDS AT AVENTURA & WINE

I had the fantastic experience of introducing my family to the wines of Mendoza this past February. With the help of Aventura and Wine our 3 generation vacation was phenomenal. Traveling with my 81-year old mother, my wife, my 29 year-old son and his wife and my 27-year old son and his girl friend posed an interesting challenge.

Aventura and Wine helped organize all of our tours. The choice of fincas and their styles were varied during all 3 days of touring. Everywhere we went we were well received. As our guide, Ana did an excellent job of preparing both the tasting rooms and our family. Additionally, the recommendations for accommodations were great!

Wonderful people meant the family has a memory to treasure forever - Mendoza, adventure and wine.

Adventure Wine wine tour was excellent with attention to details and my personal preferences. It truly was one of the best trip I have ever made even considering I was by my own, I mean without friends or relatives. I
had a very nice car, which yielded a comfortable ride thought several wineries I had chosen beforehand. I talked with Ana, the wine guide who showed me through the wineries, most of the way to the winery and all time during three days I spent in her company. She was really great; I learned so much, not only about the wine region and grapes, but also about the people of Mendoza, the culture, the habits, and so forth. I visited 12 wineries one different from another. At the Anchaval Ferrer in its new site, fantastic view, we had a wonderful tour by Cristina, which was theory and practice join together in most wonderful way. The mountains and the fact that this winery has so recent history amazed me both. At Carmello Patti, very good Cabernet, preserving the quality of wine made this small place unique. The presence of Carmello in person with his pasion to wine made this visit unforgettable. And our lunch at Cavo Cano was wonderful. We were served a wonderful food, from local ingredients with harmonized wine.

As well we were visiting the beautiful Carlos Pulenta with the breathtaking installments. It was beautiful sunny days and just the perfect backdrop for a delicious wine. With Ana I walked around the town and saw the park and squares. I enjoyed very much the wine tour and the excellent service I received. Actually it's difficult to call a service because I've got a friend over there. She has an excellent personality and I noticed that we were received with special care because of her charming and friendly nature. I had a great time on the wine tour exceeding my best expectations... really a "dream-like" one. I just wanted to thank Ana again for putting together such a fantastic wine tour. Hopefully I will be back sometime in the future with others amantes del vino.

¡CÓMO SE GOZA EN MENDOZA!

Hubiéramos podido ir a cualquier lugar en el mundo a celebrar mi cumpleaños en marzo del corriente. ¡Qué bien hicimos mi esposo y yo en escoger ir a Mendoza, Argentina!

Somos norteamericanos de ascendencia hispana y desde hace ya varios años pasamos nuestras vacaciones en regiones vitivinícolas. Nos gusta comprar, coleccionar, catar y disfrutar el buen vino. Naturalmente, después de haber leído muchos artículos acerca de Mendoza, de su gente, su clima, sus paisajes y su gastronomía, comenzamos ansiosos nuestros planes para el viaje a Suramérica.

Con tanta suerte que la Consierge del hermoso Hotel Hyatt en Mendoza arregló nuestra gira por las bodegas del área con la Sra. Eugenia Rodríguez, quien encabeza la empresa local de turismo Aventura & Wine. Para más suerte todavía, Eugenia nos envió a , Federico, y él fue nuestro incomparable guía y maestro. Federico supo exactamente dónde llevarnos y, durante el tour por los valles ese día, nos presentó a tantas personas amables y acogedoras que de haber hecho el recorrido solos, mi esposo y yo nunca hubiéramos conocido. El simpático Don Carmelo Patti nos abrió sus puertas y personalmente nos dio a probar su vino espumante que recibió premios en los Estados Unidos. Luego la propietaria de otra de las bodegas nos llevó a sus sembrados a tocar y a comer de las tantas variedades de su cosecha, a la misma vez que nos daba una educación sobre el cultivo de sus uvas y el proceso de sus vinos. En otra bodega, donde nos prepararon un almuerzo especial, cada platillo nos fue servido con una copa de vino apropiado, incluyendo al final un delicioso vino para acompañar los postres hechos en casa. ¡Simplemente inolvidable!

Mientras escribo, voy recordando una a una las experiencias que viví cuando a los pies de los Andes cumplí mis sesenta años y saboreo de nuevo el día más bello, informativo y divertido que pasamos en Mendoza, donde de verdad se goza y a donde queremos volver.

Aventura and Wine made a difference in our trip to Argentina. Ana asked us what type of winery we would like to visit, the type of wine we liked and a number of other details that gave her the opprotunity to design a tour based on our tastes. The people, the wines, the foods and the secnery were more than what we expected. We strongly recommend Ana as a guide to anyone who wants to visit Mendoza. Should we go back, we will definitely ask her to be our guide again.

I visited Mendoza on a winery tour that was organized by Ana from Aventurawine. Having been to wine regions in two other continents (USA, Italy and France) and also in Chile, I have to say that Ana knows her area very well. I had contacted her of wineries I wanted to focus on - smaller wineries with that do Malbec. Although I had limited time (a day) Ana was able to get me to five wineries and the surrounding region. I loved her efforts, since she knew the wine makers, and as a result I was also able to get a better appreciation of this region. Malbec is now a constant part of my wine cellar!

I have just traveled to Napa in June and enjoyed my time there very much. I should write retrospectively about Mendoza. What I have learned with your help about the wine worldis simple... After studying the wine varietals for years, and then studying Terroir for more time...and finally thinking I ubderstood what makes good wine...I keep coming back to one thing new....that its the PEOPLE who make wine. Not just the winemaker, or the vineyard farmer. it's the owner and his vision, it's the locality that supports the industry, it's the guides that carefully select the best places to show off the region, It is all of their combined passions which are carefully stirred into each awesome glass of wine that drips from the bottle. And I first had it shown to me in Mendoza, by you. You and the gentle true spirit of Carmelo Patti.

Maybe somewhere in there are the words you need. I hope you will go to the blog...read about my Napa trip and know that without you and Mendoza, I would never have understood Napa.

I wish you so much luck with the festival...I wish I could be there!

I found Aventura & Wine after a short search online for wine guides in Mendoza. Their website was helpful, offering email addresses of other customer contacts. Each customer I contacted was very satisfied with their trip, so I called and book my guided tour. Ana was my guide, and spoke English well. She is young and passionate about her region and her beautiful Andes Mountains. She carefully selected an itinerary which matched my wine knowledge, visiting the boutique winemakers in the region. My favorite was Carmelo Patti, and I am indebted to Ana and her company for letting me meet this special man. I truly came to understand not just the Terroir of Mendoza, but the more important passion of the Peolple of Mendoza for their product. Aventura & Wine is a perfect pairing for travel in this region

Tuvimos que viajar a la ciudad de Mendoza por motivos de trabajo. Teníamos sólo tres días para estar allí y no mucho tiempo libre. Como no conocíamos las bodegas y nos interesa mucho todo lo relacionado con el vino y su elaboración, pensamos hacer un intento de visitar algunas de ellas.

La suerte quiso que nos conectáramos con Aventura & Wine y que nuestra humilde pretensión se viera enormemente superada. Nos encontramos con una persona con tan buena disposición, profesionalismo y amabilidad que en tan breve tiempo pudimos conocer mucho más de lo que esperábamos.

Realmente sentimos que Mendoza estaba toda para atendernos sólo a nosotros.

Eugenia se ocupó super eficientemente de aconsejarnos qué y cómo visitar cada lugar y de acomodar inteligentemente los horarios en cada uno para que no nos perdiéramos nada de lo que más nos interesaba.

Tuvo una charla previa con nosotros para conocer nuestros intereses y nos dijo: "No se preocupen". Creemos que lo mejor que hicimos fue ponernos en sus manos.

Su excelente relación con los bodegueros nos facilitó las cosas, por ejemplo Carmelo Patti. Fue especialmente a abrir su bodega para nosotros y nos atendió como si fuéramos amigos especiales. Nos dio a probar el excelente "BLEND" que esta produciendo. En todos lados nos fue posible hacer todas las preguntas que quisimos, visitar cada sector de elaboración y estiba, fotografiar, filmar, probar y todo sin que nadie nos apurara ni nos escondiera nada.

No nos sentimos "turistas" a los que se les entrega un paquete armado, sino que nos movimos con absoluta comodidad.

Nuestro escaso tiempo no fue ningún impedimento porque el de los demás, especialmente el de Eugenia se adaptaba al nuestro sin hacérnoslo notar y trasladaba esto a los directivos de las bodegas.

Cuando regresamos y comentamos nuestro viaje con otras personas que sí habían ido a Mendoza por turismo y se habían quedado varios días para conocer, nadie podía creer que hubiéramos tenido tantas y tan gratas experiencias tan sencillamente, sólo por haber dado con la persona indicada en el momento justo.

Lo recordamos siempre y lo recomendamos a nuestros amigos.

Claus y yo todavía recordamos hoy con mucha alegría y placer los días que pasamos en Mendoza, guiados y patrocinados por Uds. dos. Uds. han logrado transmitirnos, y también contagiarnos, el sincero cariño que ambas sienten por Mendoza, por sus vinos, por sus bodegas y por sus viñedos, pero principalmente por toda esa gente que ha logrado hacer este milagro de pujanza y de entusiasmo en medio de lo que antes fuera un gran desierto.

Realmente quedamos admirados por la habilidad y el entusiasmo con que tratan de intepretar los intereses y las particularidades de cada visitante y por la honestidad si y cordialidad con que establecen los contactos entre los visitantes y los diferentes bodegueros y viñateros que se llegan conocer. No nos podemos imaginar como podríamos haber logrado una impresiòn tan cabal de lo que es la uva y el vino para Mendoza y su gente, si no hubiera sido por la eficaz y siempre amistosa tutela de Uds. (Nunca nos olvidaremos del pic-nic improvisado cerca de Uspallata! y ni hablar de la receta del postre de chocolate que nos sirvieron en la bodega) Creemos que las dos son excelentes embajadoras de Mendoza y su gente y les deseamos el mejor de los éxistos en esa difícil misión que se han impuesto. Queríamos dar nuestras impresiones del viaje realizado a Mendoza visitando bodegas con la excelente organización de la empresa Aventura & Wine.

El viaje consistió en la visita de 5 bodegas con la explicaciones en cada una de la actividad vitivinícola., la hotelería en cada lugar fue impecable como también la planificación de las actividades de la empresa organizadora, esto implica cumplimiento de horarios y servicios.

Queremos también destacar la capacidad de los guías y la atención personalizada que recibimos durante todo el viaje.

En febrero de este año comencé a organizar un viaje por la provincia de Mendoza en el que participaríamos 4 matrimonios.
Aprovechando un viaje a la ciudad de Mendoza, hice una especie de "prospección" sobre agencias que podrían ofrecernos un buen servicio para visitar bodegas en forma organizada.

Me decidí por "Aventura & Wine " por la excelente presentación que su gerente hizo sobre los posibles programas y porque los precios que me indicaron me parecieron muy razonables.

A comienzos de abril llegamos los 4 matrimonios a Mendoza y efectuamos tres "wine tours" organizados por Aventura&Wine : dos fueron por los alrededores de Mendoza, en Maipú y Luján de Cuyo, y uno al Valle de Uco.

Quiero expresar mi satisfacción por las bodegas bien elegidas, una mezcla de tradicionales y modernas, grandes y pequeñas. Ello nos permitió apreciar la gran gama de establecimientos que se dedican a cultivar la uva y a producir los vinos. En cada uno de los paseos tuvimos oportunidad de disfrutar excelentes almuerzos.

Además de los "wine tours" organizados por Aventura&Wine, su gerente Eugenia nos dió muy buenas recomendaciones para otros paseos que organizamos por cuenta propia.

En resumen: la satisfacción con los servicios de Aventura & Wine fue absoluta. Pensamos repetir la experiencia con ellos en un futuro cercano.
